Who Is Behind Reisebrise.com? Learn More About the Author
I’m really happy that you found your way to my travel blog and would like to learn more about me.
I’m Andi, the creative mind behind Reisebrise. With this blog project, I combine my passion for travelling, writing, photography and, more recently, video creation. The result is this versatile travel blog, which I build and develop with a great deal of passion and dedication. Below, you’ll learn a little more about me and the story behind this website.
I was born on March 27, 1984 in Lucerne, Switzerland, where I still live today. After completing my education in marketing and communications, I worked in various product management and marketing roles, mainly within the IT industry. Yet travelling has always been a constant part of my life ever since childhood.
Travel Was Part of My Life from the Very Beginning
Travelling has accompanied me since I was a child, which is hardly surprising considering I was actually conceived during a road trip through Scandinavia. From a young age, I had the chance to gain valuable travel experiences with my parents and broaden my horizons. Until I was about 19 years old, our family holidays mainly consisted of motorhome trips across Europe, especially through Northern Europe.
In my early twenties, my idea of the perfect holiday began to change, leading to several classic beach vacations in Southern Europe. Over time, however, this style of travelling became too repetitive for me. That’s when I started organising my own road trips with a motorhome through Scandinavia, Switzerland and Southern France, spending around 12 weeks travelling this way. Afterwards, my trips became shorter again, usually lasting between two and three weeks. Still, the dream of taking a longer travel break stayed with me for many years.
How Martial Arts Led Me Towards My Travel Dream
Another major passion of mine is martial arts. For many years, I trained Muay Thai with great dedication. At my peak, I trained six days a week, often several hours per day. Eventually, I decided to take a break from everyday life in order to fully focus on this passion.
I packed my bags, my boxing gloves and my training gear and travelled to a Muay Thai gym in Thailand. My original plan was to spend six months fully dedicated to training and improving my martial arts skills.
However, the intense training sessions, sometimes lasting up to seven hours a day, eventually took a toll on my body. I suffered several injuries that made further training impossible, and suddenly my new dream and carefully planned journey seemed to fall apart.

But martial arts taught me one important lesson: giving up is never an option. Instead of returning home, I decided to use my remaining time in Asia for travelling. Disappointed that my original dream had fallen apart, I set off on new adventures without realising that some of the best experiences of my life were still ahead of me.
I ended up spending another four months travelling through Asia, discovering breathtaking places, meeting incredible people and experiencing unforgettable adventures along the way.
Since then, travelling has once again become a major part of my life. Most of my journeys take me through Asia, but I also love exploring destinations across Europe. Sometimes it’s just a short weekend getaway, sometimes several weeks and occasionally even a few months at a time.
Through this blog, I want to share my travels with you and pass on my personal experiences through detailed travel guides and stories. Unfortunately, not all of my past journeys have found their way onto reisebrise.com, as some of them already date back many years. However, all current and future trips will continue to be published here on the website.
So far, I’ve had the opportunity to travel through these 34 countries:
- North America: USA
- Africa: South Africa, Eswatini
- Europe: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, Germany, England, France, Netherlands, Ireland, Italy, Croatia, Norway, Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Cyprus
- Asia: China, Hongkong, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Maldives, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, United Arab Emirates

How This Blog Started
Travelling has always been one of my greatest passions, but the idea of starting my own travel blog only came much later. Whether Europe, Asia, the USA or Africa, travelling has always been a constant part of my life. After every journey, I returned home with tens of thousands of photos, another passion of mine.
My enthusiasm for travelling also didn’t go unnoticed among friends and family. I was often asked for travel tips about different countries, and many people were curious about my experiences and adventures abroad. Proudly, I would present my travel photos and share stories from my journeys. Again and again, people suggested that I should start a travel blog and share my adventures with a wider audience.
At the same time, I was further developing my skills through additional education in marketing and communication and wanted to deepen my knowledge in content and online marketing. Starting a travel blog suddenly seemed like the perfect idea, combining two passions in one project. My travel photos and experiences would finally have their own platform, while I could simultaneously improve my online marketing skills.
However, creating a travel blog for the very first time turned out to be far more challenging than expected. First, you need hosting, a domain and a content management system to run the website. Having a custom-built website developed professionally would probably exceed almost any reasonable budget. After a lot of research, I eventually decided to use WordPress, a platform specifically well suited for blogs and offering countless themes and extensions.
One thing you should never underestimate is the amount of time a blog requires. I expected it to be time-consuming, but honestly, I never imagined just how much work goes into it. Creating a single travel guide can easily take countless hours. You constantly need to think about what you want to write, how to structure it properly, what readers actually want to know, which attractions are truly worth visiting, while also researching details, sorting photos and videos and optimising everything for the web.
In the end though, writing these travel guides brings me an incredible amount of joy and satisfaction. In many ways, it also allows me to relive my journeys once again. Every time a new article is completed and published on reisebrise.com, I feel excited like a little child and honestly quite proud of what I’ve created.
I hope you can feel that passion while reading my stories.
